Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre

National Centre Inverclyde, formerly Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre is an elite athlete sports facility in Largs, North Ayrshire, Scotland.

History

Formerly Inverclyde House, it was gifted to the nation by Lord Inverclyde in 1936 and opened as a sports facility soon after. Now maintained by sportscotland, it comprises grass pitches, floodlit all-weather surfaces, cardio-vascular and weights rooms, golf practice facility and lecture rooms, and is designed to cater for 22 different sports. Although its principal function is to cater for elite athletes and teams, it does offer training facilities for the general public. Jose Mourinho and André Villas-Boas are examples of current football managers that did their coaching badges at the venue.
